F.A.M.E.'s Story
Over the course of Lily’s forty-year career in the entertainment industry, Lily Liu, president and founder of Lily’s Talent Agency, encountered too many amazing artists who fell to the wayside because of their financial hardships as well as an inability to access the necessary educational resources. When Lily witnessed one of her dear friend, a music genius who was a brilliant song writer, producer, editor, and a vocalist having to give up his passion in the music entertainment business as well as sell his music equipment to provide for his family, she knew then, she would start a foundation to help young talented and deserving artists so they are not forced to give up their goal. Without the financial help, the mentorship of appropriate education to forge ahead in this demanding business, Lily knew the success story for the artists are slim. Inspired by her mother’s words, “Never give up your dream,” Lily made it her personal goal to create a solution. She wanted to ensure young artists would not be forced to give up their dreams and miss out on the opportunity to impact the artistic community as well as society at large. Anyone can bring about change, but sometimes they need a helping hand first.
Lily’s hard work and dedication to this cause was finally realized on August 6, 2010 when F.A.M.E was granted a Not For Profit, 501 (C)(3) status. Lily is now able to help the talented young and deserving performers by providing the resources needed to pursue and develop their talents. F.A.M.E is the helping hand so many need to achieve their dreams.
Lily and her F.A.M.E. team holds two fund raising events each year. In the spring F.A.M.E. hosts, “A Dinner Dance Gala,” where finalists perform for an opportunity to be given a monetary award. In the fall, “Bubbles & Brunch,” is held at the Chicago Yacht Club, Monroe. This brunch helps to raise funds for upcoming F.A.M.E. winners.
